"Film Reviews are a great way to find out about movies"

What can you say about film reviews. There are MANY websites devoted to this so there's no shortage of opinions about which films are actually worth the admission price.
The question here is which reviewer will you put your faith in. Which one will you trust?
Like many of the topics we discuss here at Fun Film Talk the answer is quite subjective. We all have our own opinion about movie reviewers and whether we believe them or not. So I'll do my best to tell you what I know about the most well known critics, and as always the choice is yours which sites you'll decide to visit.
For me, one of the first places I like to go is Max & Mike on the Movies. They're certainly one of my favorites, and I hope you'll agree when you check them out. Awhile back Max & Mike used to have a radio show which is now unfortunately defunct. They're promising some new development on their website, so who knows what's about to happen. We'll just have to wait and see.
Another well travelled movie review site is Rotten Tomatoes. This is a well put together site that offers movie critiques, trailers and photos, many interviews and articles as well as breaking movie news.
No listing of film critics/movie reviewers would be complete without mentioning Roger Ebert. He writes a film review column for the Chicago Sun-Times. His greatest fame resulted from his co-hosting of Siskel and Ebert and the Movies along with Gene Siskel. Their chemistry together made the show fantastic and it's especially sad that we lost Gene Siskel in 1999 to surgical complications related top a brain tumor.
The longest movie review database is MRQE. Founded in 1993, MRQE is strategically partnered with the Loft Group. This website allows finding and watching movies of all types.
Speaking of acronym based review sites, IMDB is also a huge database of film information. IMDB is an Amazon Company and also allows users to search the database for whatever movie information they're wanting.
Metacric is a CBS interactive website. They're stated mission is to help folks make a better entertainment decision with their money.
Filmcritic.com actually forwards to AMCTV.com. Here is another giant wealth of movie and television information.
If you're looking for a site that encourages user ratings and user film reviews, MovieReviews.com is the place. This is an interesting and very democratic twist on standard movie critiques.
As long as we're talking about democratic input, please let us know what you think about movie reviews. Your input is always appreciated here at Fun Film Talk.
