Film Genres, Categorizing Films with Style

"So how do film genres keep movies so interesting?"

Film genres set the style or emotional tone of any film. They define the storytelling style. They're kinda like the container a screenwriter uses to place the story into. These movie classifications are originally derived from early literary genres, so there are many similarities between the two.

There are many diverse categories to choose from, and like many things in both life itself and filmmaking, we all have our favorites. Everywhere you look you'll find a difference of opinion as to what constitutes a "film genre". I've identified these 28 genres as the "main" top level ones. Within each are sub-genres, or sub-hybrid-genres (mixtures of two or more, such as "science-fiction-horror, etc.) Here's a convenient listing of the 28 genres I've identified.

Which ones do you look forward to the most - Drama, Horror, Suspense or maybe even Science Fiction? To be honest I'm partial to Horror Films as well as many Cult Films.
